View of Moab Utah from Mt. Tukuhnikivatz

See the rare view of moab from the top of Mt. Tukuhnikivatz in the La Sal mountains east of town. I'm not quite sure how to pronounce Tukuhnikivatz so my friends and I call it Star Peak. This peak can be seen throughout the canyonlands region.

The view from the peak is amazing. It really puts the scale of the canyonlands region into prospective. In the near distance, you can see behind the rocks, spanish valley (town of moab), the slickrock trail and camping area, the porcupine rim trail, castle valley and the Colorado River. Far away you can see the Henry Mountains, the San Rafael Swell, the Wasatch Plateau and the San Juan Mountains.
