Katadyn has simplified the process of filtering water by putting the filter right in the water bottle. You just dip the water bottle in a stream, fill it up, then put the lid and filter into the bottle and squeeze. The filter that comes with the bottle removes bacteria and cysts, like Giardia and Cryptosporidum, which is fine for most backcountry travel. You don’t want to use this to filter questionable water in third world countries. The instructions warn that this filter does not remove viruses, and a special virus purification cartridge is available.

The Can-Panion is a clip-on beverage holder that easily attaches to the side of your water craft, and a number of other objects. The beverage holder has a unique coil clip that allows you to stretch the holder over a variety of widths.

The Can-Panion holds very securely to the side of the boat. There are 4 prongs within the beverage holder that keep the beverage container from wiggling around in the holder. These prongs also allow for a variety of beverage container sizes.

The High Sierra Monsoon features a flip-down strap pocket for your MP3 player and a FLEX-USE sleeve to carry your laptop or hydration pack.  The backpack’s pockets open wide for easy-access.  A pocket on top of the pack allows for sunglasses or goggles storage, and a small pocket in the front of the pack holds a deluxe organizer. The Monsoon has a capacity of 2400 cubic inches.
