Over the years, the Karhu Jaks (female version is the Jil)have received numerous awards and raving reviews in magazines, blogs and forums. If you've been lucky enough to ski on them, then you know why. This year's version offers a top sheet of Titanal to help dampen the ski and provide more edge hold on the hard pack. I skied this ski with two different bindings. The first time I skied with the Hammerhead binding, and the second time I skied it with the Rottefella NTN binding. The ski handled much differently with each binding.

I've used this pack for over two years with my daughter, starting when she was 6 months old. I've mainly used the pack for short day hikes, ski tours and downhill skiing. It's great too if you just want to have a way to carry your child around at big events like fairs or concerts. This pack differs from many of the other child carriers in two ways. First, it has a frame stand that allows you to set the pack down and put your child in it. This comes in very handy if you are alone, and when carrying the pack on the ski lift. Second, there is much more storage than other child carriers.

The Klever Kutter safe cutting tool by Safecutters, Inc. is a great tool to have in your pocket, or in your backpack, when you're out on your next adventure. The cutting tool consists of a hand length plastic handle with a small, well protected, razor blade a the end. It's very light and can cut material up to 1/8 inch thick. It's mainly used as a box cutter, but I found some other handy uses.
