32 North STABLicers Review

Stablicer in Action

As you can see from the picture, the Stablicers have 17 metal screws for traction and have strong Velcro straps that wrap tightly around the toe and the heal/ankle area of your boot. This provides a snug fit with very little wiggle room. Most often the traction devices made out of rubber webbing will hold on the icy surface, but your boot will slip out of the webbing.

High Sierra Access Backpack Review

Backpacks.gif

The High Sierra Access protects your notebook computer, while providing a comfortable, secure ride with ample storage and features. The pack holds up to a 17” screen size laptop computer with maximum dimensions of 15.5” X 10.75” X 1.8”. In addition to the padded computer sleeve, the Access has special pockets to securely carry your cell phone, iPod, GPS device, beverages and much more.

I tested the High Sierra Access backpack on a recent trip to the Alaskan bush. The weather, terrain and transportation methods put the pack to the test. This pack got the job done.

Scarpa Terminator X Ski Boot Review

scarpa_tx.gif

The Scarpa TX or Terminator X was designed for the Rottefella NTN telemark binding. Due to the new binding system, the boot does not have the traditional "duck bill" of a telemark boot. There is a flange beneath the front half of the boot that catches the binding. These boots are Dynafit compatible, so you can buy one pair of boots for your Randonee and Telemark set-ups. Believe me, they are definitely stiff enough for your AT skis.
