Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort, or "The Bird" as locals say, boasts of being "the most accessible world-renowned four season mountain resort in the US." It's only 29 miles from the Salt Lake International Airport, with ample and quality lodging, and amenities slope-side. Snowbird is known for it's powder days. It's positioning in Little Cottonwood Canyon takes advantage of the lake effect snow off the Great Salt Lake. The north-facing slopes keep the snow soft for days after a storm.
