National Parks

You'll want to keep several things in mind when hiking Acadia National Park. First, there's the usual hiking procedures every smart hiker should do, including:  bring plenty of snacks, loads of  water, a durable pair of hiking boots, an extra pair of socks, a map, and camera with extra batteries.  Also remember to know your own limits while hiking and not to exceed them.

Acadia National Park is made up of a cluster of islands encompasses 45,000 acres on the rugged coast of Maine. Acadia National Park is mostly surrounded by the ocean, but it also hosts a wide variety of freshwater, estuarine, forest, and intertidal habitats, and includes the highest point on the U.S. Atlantic coast, Cadillac Mountain, standing at 1,530 feet.
