I was surprised to find out that there are affordable, earth friendly kids sleeping bags still made in the America by Exxel Outdoors. These sleeping bags are made from 75% recycled polyester. The Haleyville, Alabama manufacturing facility recycles over 95% of their industrial waste which saves 30 Millions pounds of waste from entering the landfill each year. These bags retail for under $20 and are sold in Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart-Sears, Big 5 Sporting Goods, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Exxel has an exclusive license to manufacture kids sleeping bags for Disney. Your kids can enjoy the characters on the sleeping bag, while you enjoy the eco-friendliness and affordability. The bags must meet Disney's stringent quality guidelines. The sleeping bag fabric is colorfast, so the colors will not bleed when washed. These bags have been test to withstand 70 to 100 washings without fading. I liked how the sleeping bags had a smooth, nylon lining on the inside. This makes cleaning the bag much easier, especially if your kids get dirty while around camp. Exxel's kids sleeping bags are rated to 40 degrees, so they are for summer camping trips, or for sleep-overs.
About Exxel Outdoors In 2000, Exxel purchased a 250,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Haleyville, Alabama from the Brunswick Corporation. Exxel transformed the factory into a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant. They hired back most of the original workers, providing fair wages and affordable healthcare to all employees and their families. Exxel’s American-made brand holds an estimated 30% of the U.S. market share of all sleeping bags, supplying almost one and a half million units per year. |
