Light and Motion Stella 300 Review
Bike Lights are no longer just for bikes. The Light and Motion Stella 300 can be used for any outdoor adventure where you need a very bright light. This small unit puts out 300 Lumen, and has a battery that fits comfortably into your pocket.

Within seconds you can mount the light on your handlebars. I could see using this light for a team race, because you can quickly interchange the light between bikes. It's also very easy to mount the light onto a helmet using the helmet mount accessory.
Compact Battery and Light

Here you can see the size of the battery pack on the light. The 3 cell Li-ion pack fully charges in five hours and will run on high for 4 hours, medium for 8 hours and low for 16 hours. It also will hold a charge over time, so if you only right for an hour you don't need to constantly recharge the battery. Read more about the SPECS.
Light & Motion Stella 300 Video Review
Here's a quick video of the Stella 300. It's hard to film in the dark, but you can see the illumination once I bike past the camera.
Light & Motion Stella 300 on the Bike
We tested out a few lights on the Sovereign Trail in Moab. The Stella 300 is the smaller light on the the left. The are some rocky sections with big drop-offs so a solid light is a must. The Stella 300 has a mode for cruising and racing. The Cruise Mode goes through high, medium, low and flash. We liked the Race Mode, even when cruising. You just hold the button down for two seconds, then the medium and flash beam patterns are skipped. So you ride uphill in low, then on the descents, hit the button for high beam.
Light & Motion Stella 300 in the Dark
I took this picture to some the illumination of the light from a distance. Of course, most of use think about using a light to see, but it's also important to use a light to been seen. Obviously this looks like something large so motorists can easily see it.
Light & Motion Stella 300 at 20 Feet
Here's two pictures that compare the Stella 300 at 20 feet and at 50 feet. As you can see, the light provides ample illumination for the trail immediately ahead.
Light & Motion Stella 300 at 50 Feet
As I mentioned earlier, night photos are tough to accurately show what the eye sees. Basically the whole area ahead of the light is illuminated, and you can easily make out an object at 50 feet away.
The Light and Motion Stella 300 retailers for $279. That's an exceptional deal just for a bike light, but you can use if for hiking, camping, caving, skiing, hunting and so much more. Given the size of the light and battery pack, and the extreme versatility of use, I'd highly recommend this light.
