Kamik Fernie Mens Boot Review
I tested out the Kamik Fernie Boots on a few early season hikes near Alta Ski area. The waterproof shell kept my feet dry and helped shed snow and mud from the boot. The Kamik Fernie Boots slip-on and zip-up with ease, and are rated to -32 below zero. It's tough to sum up all the features in this introduction, so check out all the features below:

Kamik Fernie Hiking
The Snowgrip traction also holds well on rocks. The sole of the boot is not as stiff as a traditional hiking boot, but still provides enough support for a day hike. With only the zipper to adjust the tightness of the boot, you'll find more wiggle room for your foot.
Kamik Fernie Snowshoeing
I really liked how these boots performed on snowshoes. The rubber shell on the bottom of the boot helps holds the binding in place, and sheds snow. The Fernie is high enough that you don't need to wear gaiters.
Kamik Fernie Heel
The heel of the boot has a piece that sticks out to help hold the strap for the snowshoe binding. These heel extensions also hold ice traction devices in place.
Kamik Fernie Rear
Once the boot is zipped up the, rear cuff and upper provide ankle support. This was enough support for me, but if need more ankle support, you should look at a lace-up style boot.
Kamik Fernie Front
The tongue of the Fernie is gusseted so snow and cold air stay out of the boot. It's easy to slip the boot on and off once the zipper is down. I really like to just slide the boot on and go. It's a great feature for quick trips outside, like getting the mail or taking out the trash. The zippers also stay fully zipped up while your wearing the boot.
Kamik Fernie Snowgrip Traction
Here you can see the Snowgrip traction the bottom of the boot. The treads are deep enough to provide traction, but not too deep to trap snow and mud on the boot. Below you can see the footprint left in the snow.
